Argentina's economy experienced a 3.3% year-on-year growth in the third quarter of 2025, which fell slightly below the forecasted 3.5% and decelerated from a revised 6.4% increase in the second quarter. This deceleration was largely due to renewed weaknesses in key sectors. Specifically, manufacturing production declined by 2.4%, compared to a substantial 6.9% increase in Q2, and the wholesale and retail trade sector grew by just 0.6%, a notable decrease from 10.3%. Additionally, the growth in agriculture decelerated significantly to 0.8% from 4.8%, as the initial recovery from drought effects waned. The utilities sector continued to contract, albeit slightly less at -0.8%, compared to -1.1% previously. Conversely, certain sectors demonstrated resilience; the transportation and communications sector saw a modest uptick to 1.8%, from 1.4%, and financial intermediation achieved robust gains of 28.4%, up from 26.7%.
